Countryside Quality Meats Joins Michigan Sportsmen Against Hunger
Michigan Sportsmen Against Hunger is pleased to welcome Countryside Quality Meats in Union City as the newest participating processor in our statewide network.
Located in Branch County, Countryside Quality Meats is owned and operated by Union City residents Cailie and Wyatt Williams. Their family business is rooted in agriculture, livestock and a strong commitment to serving their local community.
Cailie grew up around farming and animal agriculture. Both of her grandfathers raised livestock and farmed, and she continued that tradition through her involvement in FFA and by showing animals at the county fair while attending the Branch Area Careers Center. She began managing Countryside Quality Meats in 2021.
Cailie and Wyatt purchased the business in early 2023. Today, Wyatt works full-time at Countryside, where he handles butchering, oversees employees on the processing floor and helps maintain the facility. Together, they are involved in agriculture from farm to fork, raising pork, beef, lambs and goats in addition to operating the processing business.
For the Williams family, Countryside Quality Meats is also an opportunity to raise the next generation with an appreciation for farming and hard work. Their children enjoy helping with the animals and even assisting customers at the front counter.
Processors such as Countryside Quality Meats are essential to the mission of Michigan Sportsmen Against Hunger. They provide the professional expertise and local capacity needed to turn donated deer into nutritious ground venison for food banks, pantries and families throughout Michigan.
We are grateful to Cailie and Wyatt for joining our processor network and supporting hunters who choose to share their harvest with neighbors in need.
