Big Buck Night Returns January 8 — Benefiting Michigan Sportsmen Against Hunger
Michigan Sportsmen Against Hunger (MSAH) is proud to partner with the Safari Club International – Michigan Chapter for their upcoming Big Buck Night, taking place Thursday, January 8. This annual event brings together Michigan’s hunting community for an evening of fellowship, conservation education, and direct support for families facing food insecurity across our state.
Big Buck Night will be held at Thousand Oaks Golf Club – Oak Arbor Room in Grand Rapids. Doors open at 5:30 p.m., with dinner served at 7:00 p.m. Attendees are encouraged to bring a non-perishable food item to further support local hunger relief efforts.
The evening’s featured program will be presented by Jay Fettig, owner of Everland Outdoors, who will share insights on more effective whitetail management on your property. In addition to the program, guests can participate in raffles and prize drawings, including adult and youth gun raffles and additional awards recognizing outstanding bucks.

Proceeds from Big Buck Night directly support Michigan Sportsmen Against Hunger, a 501(c)(3) organization that connects hunters, wild game processors, and nonprofit food banks to provide nutritious venison at no cost to families in need. Since 1991, MSAH has helped distribute more than 1.2 million pounds of venison to communities throughout Michigan—made possible by the generosity of hunters, processors, sponsors, and partners like SCI Michigan.
How You Can Support the MSAH Mission
Events like Big Buck Night play an important role in sustaining the Michigan Sportsmen Against Hunger program. Whether you attend, bring a food donation, spread the word to fellow hunters, or support our partner organizations, your involvement helps ensure that donated venison continues to reach Michigan families who need it most. Together, Michigan’s hunting community can continue turning a shared outdoor tradition into a meaningful source of nourishment and support across our state.
