Ultimate Sport Show Grand Rapids: Opening Day Food Drive Supporting Local Food Banks

Bring non-perishable food on Thursday, March 12, 2026 ONLY and receive free admission to the show.

Michigan Sportsmen Against Hunger is proud to sponsor the annual opening day food drive at the Ultimate Sport Show – Grand Rapids, held at DeVos Place. This long-running tradition showcases the power of Michigan’s outdoor community to come together and support neighbors in need through one of the largest single-day food drives in the state.

On Thursday, March 12, 2026 ONLY, attendees who bring a sack containing at least six non-perishable food items (cans or boxes) to the front of DeVos Place will receive free admission to the show for the day. This simple act of generosity helps ensure critical food resources reach local families while allowing participants to enjoy a premier outdoor sports show.

Food donations will be collected by Michigan Sportsmen Against Hunger volunteers and distributed to God’s Kitchen of Catholic Charities West Michigan, along with other local organizations serving individuals and families in need throughout the region.

Adding to the excitement, Tony Gates will be on-site at DeVos Place from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. for a live remote broadcast with HUGE Bill Simonson, helping amplify awareness and encourage participation in this important community effort.

Over the years, it is estimated that attending sportsmen—more than 2,000 participants annually—have donated over 120,000 pounds of food through this event, making it the largest annual single-day food drive in Michigan. With your help, we can continue this tradition and work together to set another record this year.
