Michigan Hunters Deliver a Major Impact in 2025

Michigan Sportsmen Against Hunger (MSAH) continues to demonstrate the power of hunters and processors working together to support families across our state. Between January 1 and November 30, 2025, the generosity of Michigan’s hunting community created a measurable difference in the lives of thousands of people facing food insecurity.

During this period, hunters donated 1,120 deer, resulting in:

  • 39,177 pounds of venison processed, plus 1,187 additional pounds donated in processing at no charge
  • Distribution of high-quality ground venison to 68 food pantries across 18 Michigan counties
  • As many as 161,456 nourishing meals served to individuals and families in need

These results matter—especially in a state where more than 1.4 million residents, including 378,040 children, face food insecurity.

Since 1991, Michigan hunters and processors partnering through MSAH have delivered over 1.26 million pounds of venison, providing more than 5 million meals to Michigan communities.

This year’s numbers reinforce a simple truth: Michigan hunters are helping feed our state, one donation at a time.
