DOEnation: A Community Partnership Feeding Osceola County

DOEnation: A Community Partnership Feeding Osceola County

Michigan Sportsmen Against Hunger (MSAH) is proud to partner with the Osceola County Farm Bureau on DOEnation, a community-driven effort that brings hunters, processors, and local organizations together to help address food insecurity across Osceola County.

Event Dates: December 15, 2025 through January 1, 2026

DOEnation encourages hunters to donate does harvested during the season. These donations support responsible deer herd management while ensuring that nutritious venison is distributed to food pantries serving Osceola County communities.

Hunter Incentives and Program Support

To remove barriers for hunters and encourage participation, DOEnation provides:

• Free processing for donated does
• $20 tag reimbursement per donated doe, made possible by Ebel’s General Store and the Michigan Farm Bureau Family of Companies’ Social Mission
• Entry into prize drawings, with winners announced at the DOEnation Victory Party

Free processing and tag reimbursements are guaranteed for the first 150 donated does.

Drop-Off Locations

Hunters can donate at several locations throughout Osceola County, including:

• Ebel’s General Store – Reed City
• Marion VFW – Marion
• Hersey Drop-Off Location – US-10
• The Ina Store – Tustin (special event drop-off)

These local drop-off sites make participation convenient while highlighting the strong community partnerships behind the program.

DOEnation Victory Party
The program concludes with the DOEnation Victory Party:

Date: January 3, 2026
Time: 12:00 p.m.
Location: Osceola County Fairgrounds

Participants are invited to celebrate the season, recognize the impact of donated venison, and take part in prize drawings. Must be present to win.

Why This Matters

Since 1991, Michigan Sportsmen Against Hunger has worked statewide to connect hunters, wild game processors, and nonprofit food organizations. Partnerships like DOEnation demonstrate how conservation, agriculture, and community service come together to deliver real results for Michigan families.

MSAH thanks the Osceola County Farm Bureau, participating processors, sponsors, and local hunters whose commitment makes DOEnation possible. Their support helps ensure that donated venison reaches those who need it most while supporting responsible wildlife management.
